BMS MICRO-BLASTER
The BMS MICRO-BLASTER is a compact and affordable low-energy demolition system utilizing a fast burning proprietary gas producing cartridge to crack rock and masonry. Operated remotely with a 25-foot pull cord the MICRO-BLASTER is safe and easy to use when common sense safety precautions are used. Because of its low energy output this system can be utilized in almost any environment . Requiring only a 5/16 inch diameter hole, 9 inches deep, the system can be employed without the need of expensive large hole drilling systems. Assembled using hardened tool steel components the MICRO-BLASTER should provide many years of trouble free use and is easily serviced in the field with common hand tools. Packaged in a durable and compact molded case (13.5ÓW,10ÓH,3.5ÓD), the MICRO-BLASTER comes complete with hole blower, bull pins (for wedging apart cracked rock), and release cord.

Manufacturer's suggested retail price: $375US.
Loads are available for $15 per package of 10.

Citizen Caver Scientist Kit
This package is designed specifically for cavers, and especially for “sport” cavers. The Citizen Cave Scientist Kit is a simple, economical, cave-ready kit that contains many tools for helping the typical caver learn more about the various aspects of caving. Of course, one goal is to help spur more interest in the science of caves, but it can lead to some interesting and fun observations as well. The kit is small enough to carry in a standard cave pack, light-weight, and water-resistant. The kit includes the following:

  1. Two Rite-in-the-rain tablets of waterproof paper for taking notes.
  2. Two mechanical Pencils.
  3. One small 6-inch ruler.
  4. One water sampling tube.
  5. One roll of brightly colored flagging tape.
  6. Five small zip-lock type sample baggies (remember, it is illegal to take anything from a cave—for surface use only).
  7. One small bottle of HCl (for testing for limestone or dolomite).
  8. One small compass (for navigation and determining strike and dip of rock beds).
  9. One small thermometer for taking and monitoring temperature readings in cave.
  10. One whistle (for communicating).
  11. One small marker for marking tubes or sample baggies.
  12. Mineral hardness kit for aid in identifying minerals (one penny, one nail, instructions, and a laminated key).
  13. Laminated fossil guide.
  14. Laminated biological guide for commonly seen cave life.
  15. Laminated geologic guide of commonly seen geologic features in caves.
  16. Laminated guide to measuring strike and dip.

All materials are packaged in a small waterproof and cave-resistant box that is easily packed in a cave pack. Contact us for pricing information.
